Expected Benefits from Fucoidan

Weight Control, Reduction of Serum Cholesterol, Reduction of Serum Triglyceride

In order to investigate influences of fucoidan on fats, two groups of Wister/ST mice were bred on an ordinary feed and a fucoidan-mix feed, respectively for 1 month. Their body weights, fat tissue contents, serum cholesterol contents, and serum triglyceride contents were compared.

［1］A significant reduction of body weight can be seen in fucoidan fed mice.

［2］Significant reductions in weight were observed in fat around kidney and especially in epididymis fat of the fucoidan fed mice.

［3］［4］Reductions in both LDL (Lower Density Lipoprotein-cholesterol) and TG (TriGlyceride) were observed in fucoidan fed mice.
